revelation2-7

Isaiah 52:3-6; Revelation 2:1-7; John 2:1-11

One of the happiest times in life is when you enter into God’s presence with family and friends to witness a marriage. I can only imagine how happy Jesus, his disciples, and his mother were to be part of such a joyful celebration. Mary tells the servants to do whatever Jesus says. We can be served with that same reminder today.

In this first miracle, we see Jesus providing for his hosts. The jars are filled to the brim with water and through Jesus’ power, when the water is drawn out, becomes wine. These verses remind me how our Lord and Savior also provides abundantly for us at his Holy Table. We take the Communion wine from the hands of those helping to distribute the Meal with the words, “The Blood of Christ, shed for you.”

We have the opportunity to respond to Christ’s miracle with a miracle of our own! Rise, get up, and go as people of faith have for every generation. Share the Good News of salvation. It is a miracle that God has given us an opportunity to respond to his grace and love.

Prayer: Help us, Lord, do as you say. Amen.
