Beginning with ten Oromo immigrants in 1998, the congregation has now grown to over 120 communicant members, and more than 90 children under the age of 16. Approximately 35% of the members have arrived in the United States within the last year. The congregation is consistently growing at a rate of 20% per year and is served by two bi-vocational pastors. Making disciples who make disciples who make disciples is the core identity of this congregation as they share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Oromo Evangelical Church in Columbus is incredibly grateful to all its partners — as they have established a permanent home on the east side of Columbus. This thriving congregation has also received grant funding from the NALC and is seeking additional prayer and financial support to assist with ministry and pastoral salaries.
