Ministry Focus: Coaching/Training, Discipleship, Mission Start, Youth
Contact: Pastor Martha Shanka

Originally from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Pastor Martha Shanka has been equipped with the gifts of teaching, preaching, and leading worship. She considers herself blessed to grow up in a Christian home and sees God’s provision throughout her life. She attended a Bible college where she received a Bachelor’s of Art degree. This led to teaching in congregations, going back to the previous Bible school she attended, and speaking at a variety of conferences.

In 2010, she received a call to work in Egypt where there was a two pronged approach to her missionary work. First, teaching and preaching. Because of cultural restrictions, Martha shares that it was by God’s grace alone that these doors were opened. Second, to specifically equip Ethiopian women living in Egypt. It was forbidden to preach the Gospel legally, but in the training of these Christian women who served as nannies, maids, and in other capacities, they were blessed to see the Good News of Jesus Christ spread.

Most recently, Martha has received a call to Dubai where she serves in a new congregation. This strategic center for ministry also serves as an evangelism training ground, Bible school and missional community.
