Emmanuel Lutheran is an orthodox community of Christians growing in zeal and numbers of disciples. Since December of 2015, Emmanuel Lutheran Church has tripled its regular worship attendance, cemented a strong adult Bible study on Sundays along with calendared evening Bible study opportunities, has a small but mighty choir, received NALC grant funding, and has run a confirmation series along with regular children’s Sunday School programming. Its challenge is to make the Christian faith meaningful and credible in a community that is highly secular and very liberal. State College provides an academic university setting with a high standard of living and high professional standards.

Emmanuel has the ongoing expenses of any start-up congregation: paying for pastoral support, worship space (it is currently worshiping in a United Methodist church), website start-up and maintenance costs, advertising and general operating expenses.
