Located in Winchester, Virginia, in the northern Shenandoah Valley, Advent Lutheran Church was formed in 2010. It is the first chartered mission congregation of the NALC and has received past NALC grant funds. The congregation’s mission is to preserve the Bible as the inerrant word of our Creator, to expose ever-increasing circles around the congregation to the power of God’s Word for new life, and to pass to future generations a legacy that acknowledges the divine inspiration and special nature of the Bible as the authoritative Word of God.

Advent holds Sunday and special festival services, a Lenten Bible study, a special Christmas program, congregational meetings and retreats. It proclaims the Gospel through preaching, Bible study, personal Bible reading, classes, participation in community events, invitations to the community for church events, media advertisements and brochures. It assists a local food bank.
