First English Lutheran Church of Victoria, Texas, celebrates 100 years of preaching and teaching the Word of God, October 12-13, 2013.

On Saturday, October 12th, the Texas Historical Society will present a plaque to the congregation. In addition, the cornerstone laid during construction of the church will be opened to reveal its contents. A catered dinner (reservations necessary) and music will follow these centennial events from 6:00-9:00 p.m.

On Sunday, October 13th, Bishop John Bradosky will preach the sermon at both services (8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.). He will join the Rev. Jim Pearson, pastor of First English, and former ministers and interns, including Pastor Pearson’s father, the Rev. Harold A. “Bud” Pearson, who twice was pastor at First English. A catered luncheon will be served following worship.

Reservations will be taken to insure adequate seating is available for the Saturday and Sunday catered meals. Contact Aaron Muegge (361.582,4786; [email protected]) or Jennifer Hartman (361.578.4918; [email protected]) to RSVP for each date.
