Home > Congregational Partnerships

Congregational Partnerships are vetted by the Mission Vetting Team of the North American Lutheran Church (NALC) and must be approved by the Executive Council. These ministries are started and administered by a single congregation and may receive support from that congregation and others within the same Mission District. The partnerships may include congregations from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT) or the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus (EECMY), and the protocols for starting these partnerships will be established by the Mission Team.

Approval Process for Congregational Partnerships

To apply for Congregational Partnership status, congregations need to contact the NALC Missions Office for more information. Once approved, these partnerships may receive support from the Great Commission Fund of the NALC, which endorses ministries seeking prayer and financial support from congregations and individuals.

Support for Congregational Partnerships

Mission Districts are encouraged to provide support and prayer for Congregational Partnerships. Once a Congregational Partnership is approved, the NALC encourages Mission Districts to post information about the ministry on their Mission District Website. The NALC Missions Team is available to answer any questions about the approval process or the Congregational Partnership program.

“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

– Matthew 28:18-20 ESV
