October 19, 2020

Dear Pastors and Leaders,

I am writing to inform you that on Saturday night, surrounded by his family, Bishop Paull Spring was called to his eternal home with his Lord. His life and leadership were gifts to us and instrumental in the formation of the North American Lutheran Church (NALC). I ask for your prayers for his wife, Barbara, and their family, along with prayers of thanks for the life he lived and the life he now lives in Jesus.

A funeral service for Bishop Spring will be held on Wednesday, October 21 at 10:00 a.m. EST. The service will be at Albright-Bethune United Methodist Church, 206 S Burrowes Street, State College, PA 16801. It is open to all clergy and members of the NALC who are able to attend. Clergy, if vesting, are encouraged to wear green stoles.

More will be said in future communications to honor and to remember his life of faithful service to our Lord Jesus and to His Church. For now, please remember Barbara and the family in your prayers. Bishop Paull’s life and witness are gifts for which we can and should give thanks.

Thanks be to God for the life we have and we share eternally in Christ Jesus.

In His Name,

Bishop Dan Selbo
