Today’s Readings: Isaiah 25:1-9; Acts 4:13-31; John 16:16-33

Ours is the glorious task of speaking God’s Word with boldness. The Holy Spirit fills us, supplying our every need for this great commission from Jesus (Matt 28:19-20). Ask the Father in Jesus’ name for this boldness and wisdom; he will supply it to you. “Ask, and you will receive,” and great will be your joy, despite the circumstances of life.

Though all around us falls, as cities, societies, and entire civilizations do, a refuge remains. The Lord is always our strong fortress, even when all else is lost. Yet when things are not so drastic as that, he is still our shelter in the various storms of life. And when things are far beyond the loss of civilization—when death is upon us—we are glad and rejoice because God is our salvation. Our sorrow will be turned into joy. Do you believe?

Some trouble is always around the corner. But Christ has spoken to us so that we will have peace during the tempests of this world. Take heart; Jesus has overcome the world. Let us spread this good news.

Prayer: Embolden and empower your Church, Lord. Amen.
