Ezekiel 33:21–33; 1 John 2:1–11; Matthew 9:34–10:4
What has the Lord placed in front of you? What does God want you to do for him today? Will you be like those in our first lesson, who hear but do not do? Or will you follow Jesus in some new path that he has in store for you? The Lord is not finished with you; his will for you is not static. Ezekiel’s ministry changed. Jesus’ disciples were given new challenges, and with them, the authority to do God’s will. You are no different than them. Perhaps today is the day that God would do something new with you.
What is right in front of you; what “fugitive” has come into your life that can change everything you thought today would hold? Would God have someone in your life know there is a Savior and an advocate because you speak in the authority of God’s word? Will your brother or sister know the love of Christ because you love them? Will some soul know that there is something else than darkness because you walk in the light?
What has God placed in front of you today?

Thank you for your insightful message this morning Mark! Spot on for my life today. Tomorrow my son’s fiancé’ and their new baby girl come to live in my small condo while she recuperates from her C-section. As I adopted my son at an older age and know nothing about newborns, this is that “new thing” God is calling me to do in His name. Your wise words comforted me today and gave me new courage to face the hard work ahead.
I hope that all has gone well in your “new thing,” Becky. Keep facing the days with faith in Jesus.
