The NALC has a disaster recovery coordinator, Mary (Woodward) Bates, who is in daily contact with FEMA by telephone, as the assessment of needs progresses. Mary has also contacted our church offices, and is working to identify impacted Lutheran families and congregations.

Most importantly, please keep these families in your prayers. If you are able to volunteer for response, please contact Mary by email ([email protected]) or Facebook.

Due to power outages, early response volunteers must be self-sufficient. For more information, call Mary at  740-509-1132.

Disaster Relief Fund Established

A fund has been established to help NALC congregations affected by Hurricane Sandy.

You may donate online, or you may mail a check to the NALC Upper Midwest office (2299 Palmer Drive Suite 220, New Brighton  MN  55112-2202) and note “Hurricane Relief Fund” in the check memo area.

Thank you for your support at this time of need.

In the event that contributions exceed needs related to NALC congregations, donated funds will be directed to general relief efforts related to Hurricane Sandy.
